You know where the film is headed.
She enables his delusions, even though shes the one with the real talent.
The filmmakers dont have to lean too hard into the silliness.
More importantly, however, it crystallizes Ferrell and McAdamss antics.
And in that kind of heightened atmosphere, even the weak jokes land.
