Belleis already anime superstar Mamoru Hosodas highest-grossing film, and thats before it even hits theaters in the U.S.
This is no surprise.
Despite the homages to the Disney film (the camera movements in the dancing scene!

), youd be wrong to call it a remake.
And it hits all the harder for it.
Even as we were making it, there was this sense of,We really need this show.

The payoff is worth it.

How does one come to terms with a childhood filled with unspeakable suffering and tragedy?
Its as masterful a documentary as it is an animated film, and itsone of the years best movies.

A pitch-perfect noir filled with mystery and intrigue.
A sublime skewering of contemporary society in Japan and beyond.
A laugh-out-loud drama and a dread-filled comedy.Odd Taxiis all of these things.

Do our choices matter?
ImaginetheBoJack Horsemanentry Stupid Piece of Shitstretched across six episodes and youll get the idea.
A gorgeous, unsettling film.

It is decidedly not.
Also, Tony Hale voices Josh Radnors giraffe-centaurs seemingly sentient flatulence, if thats your thing.
It balances action and intrigue with humor effortlessly.

Infinity Train, Season 4
You cant say the writers ofInfinity Trainwere averse to trying new things.
Is that easy for kids to learn?
Its not easy for any of us to learn!

Is it a powerful and necessary lesson?
AndInfinity Trainwas powerful and necessary television.
Special shout-outs in particular go to the voice casting, direction, and especially the acting.

Like that film,Hathawayis crisply animated and moves at a brisk, politically motivated pace.
Oscar-nominated Korean director Erick OhsNamoo, from Baobab Studios, is in this vein.
Its as lovely conceptually as it is visually.

It just lets the artists show their work, and their work is dazzling.
The entries tones and narratives differ significantly, and never outstay their welcome.
The show depicts a folklore and culturerarely depicted in global media, let alone with nuance.

The answer is simple: It would be kinda scary, kinda funny, and ultimately totally adorable.
And the voice acting is pitch perfect.
Even those who dont typically gravitate toward anime will find plenty to giggle at here.

Its worth spreading out the laughs.
The Windshield Wiper
Love is a secret society.
And yet it does.

Oh, and the soundtrack bops.
To be clear, thats a compliment.
But this makes it one of the most excitingly watchable superhero shows in any format.
