Ladies, weve almost made it.
No, not even Colin Jost.
(Also, dont tell me thats not what irony is.
I dont care!)
Without further ado, lets talk about each of our lovely top five queens.
On the one hand, we have the growers of the season: Gottmik and Rose.
Gottmik came into this season, by her own admission, hiding behind her signature makeup.
So, to combat that feeling, she adopted her signature clown-white face.
The competition has allowed Gottmik to flourish, and its been a true pleasure to watch.
Her Oscar-worthy scene comes from her pained yet sexy tickle fight with a fake giant cat paw.
(Love when I get to key in sentences like that.)
Its campy, its well-executed, and, as usual, stunning.
Then we have Rose, whos had a great couple of weeks as well.
Rose attributes this mindset to a fear of how shed be perceived by fans online.
Were so kind!)
As she so eloquently puts it: Bitch!
Im just having fun now.
In a way, this episode is the culmination of that journey.
Its notoriously easy to lose the plot in these lengthierDrag Raceacting challenges.
So its refreshing to watch Rose weaponize that B.F.A.
If Rose and Gottmik are the growers of the season, that makes Symone and Kandy … the showers.
(Im so sorry.)
But thats not necessarily a bad thing!
But as entertaining as shes been, this consistency is a double-edged sword.
Just like most swords.
Unfortunately, todays episode falls into the latter category.
But in todays challenge, Kandy pushes for the maniacal villain.
Its a plot-heavy role, and one that doesnt play at all to Kandys strengths as an ad-libbing scene-stealer.
Next up, Symone, another queen who hasnt seen much in the way of growth this season.
In this way, tonights episode was quite the fake out.
My blood pressure hasnt yet recovered, but safe to say Im relieved!
And finally, Olivia.
Not a grower, not quite a shower, but more of … a fizzler.
On the runway, Symone lays out the narrative clear as day: Olivia has more growing to do.
(The latter I still disagree with, but I digress.)
Since then, its been downhill for Olivia.
But this time, its too late.
After three months of consecutiveDrag Race,we finally have ourselves a well-rounded quartet of queens.
