Michael Apted, Director of theUpSeries, Dead at 79

British filmmaker Michael Apted, who directed entries in the James Bond and Chronicles of Narnia series, as well as acclaimed features like Coal Miner’s Daughter, died on January 7 at 79. He was best known for his ‘Up’ series of documentaries.
