Finch has some hope that there might be some life out West.
Despite the ticking clock of Finchs rapidly progressing illness, the movie doesnt build up much urgency or excitement.
The script is pretty thin, almost all premise and little incident.
Thats why having Hanks at the center of a story like this is so invaluable.
He evokes both our compassion and admiration through his very presence.
The movie may not be much, but hes everything.
